The Open Book Project
In a collaboration piece with myself and Sam Rains we manipulated a selection of books transforming the stories within. Portraying the effects of time and its impact on the shortly outdated materiality of books. We attempted to seal and preserve books with resin, glue and even bolting a book shut in order to preserve the books from inevitable degradation. We also cut a book in half, consequently changing the story within, illustrating the temporal nature of the book compared to the ethereal properties of digital e-books.
